Nestled as it is, between the mountain and the sea, Barcelona offers the best of both worlds. Fresh seafood and a wide variety of dishes which defy categorisation or generalisation mean there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Typically Catalan is the mid-morning, late breakfast country bread toast rubbed with a little garlic and plenty of ripe tomato, generous lashings of fragrant, extra virgin, olive oil and, if you're really pushing the boat out, some wonderful cured ham to top it all off.
