Barcelona: how to get around
Getting around without driving yourself round the bend!
A comprehensive public transport network is available in Barcelona and includes an underground system, a bus network and a number of tramlones which make getting aound the city a doddle. For a more scenic ride, take the Montjuic Funicular for some amazing views. Barcelona has recently introduced a new shared bicycle scheme calling 'Bicing' which has rocketed in popularity during its short existence.
The city is also well serviced by two ring roads, the Ronda del Dalt to the north and the Ronda del Litoral, serving the city on its Mediterranean front.
The city's beauty extends beyond the civic centre and it would be a shame to miss out on an opportunity like the Grand Prix weekend to savour everything Barcelona as city and county, have to offer.
The best way to enjoy the surrounding area is by car and hiring can be cheaper than you might think at first glance. If you're travelling in a group of four or more, just the cost of airport transfers could swing the argument in favour of the added freedom and independence of hiring a car
